If you're heading towards Telluride on Highway 145, you're pass the towns of Dolores and Rico
before reaching the Lizard Head Pass summit. The mountain scenery is downright stunning from
there and if you're a Colorado photography enthusiast, this place is a "must" stop.
I'm not sure of the name of this particular mountain (right photo), but the colorful
and jagged mountains are part of the San Juan Mountains. Just north of Lizard Head Pass
and into the valley is the town of Telluride, Colorado, once a vibrant mining community.
Of course, Telluride has greatly changed from its historic past, as it is home to some
of the greatest ski resorts in the world.
Check out "Visit Telluride" for more about this popular town.
