November 2005 - This afternoon I traveled round trip from
Buena Vista to Silverthorne, taking Fremont Pass over the
Continental Divide.
From Buena Vista, the weather was sunny and relatively calm. Little did
I know I would encounter a gnarly snowstorm on each side of Fremont
Pass! On this page are four photos from my drive.
Above is a photo Clinton Reservoir with (what I believe is) Wheeler Mountain
in the background. I wish my camera could have captured the "silverness"
and "whiteness" of the entire landscape. As a warning, definitely consider
the weather as a factor when traveling through Colorado's high altitude passes, including all
Continental Divide passes, during the winter.

The backside (or front side, depending on your perspective) of Mt. Democrat.
A few other snow pages of mine:
Cottonwood Pass,
Buena Vista, CO,
Snow Rocky Mountains.
