This afternoon I traveled round trip from Buena Vista to Silverthorne, taking Fremont Pass over the Continental Divide.
From Buena Vista, the weather was sunny and relatively calm. Little did
I know I would encounter a gnarly snowstorm on each side of Fremont
Pass! Enclosed are a few pictures from my drive.
The adjacent photo is of Clinton Reservoir with Wheeler Mountain
in the backdrop. I wish my camera could have captured the "silverness"
and "whiteness" of the entire landscape. All I will say is, definitely consider
the weather as a factor when traveling Colorado's major passes, including all
Continental Divide passes, during the winter. Take it from me! ;)
Below are a three more photos from the snowstorm with captions. You are more than welcome to share
your thoughts or comments or the Amazing Colorado forums if you like.
