The above photo was taken with me standing right on Cottonwood Pass Road on the Chaffee County side of the Continental Divide. The mountain in the background is Jones Mountain, and I took this photo as part of my ongoing project of taking a picture of this very scene at different times of day and seasons of the year. Cottonwood Pass Road is open usually from Memorial Day weekend until November 1. Because of the massive amounts of snow that comes down, the road is closed during the colder months.
