Two photos of very pretty mountains near
Hoosier Pass and Breckenridge, CO!
September 2005 - I snapped the photo above while driving toward Breckenridge, located south of the Continental
Divide in the Blue River watershed. The mountain is officially named Red Mountain, altitude 13,229 at the summit.
For the most part, the mountain views are very stunning throughout Summit County,
which is home of the towns of Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco and Silverthorne. Many ski / snowboarding slopes
are located in this region.
This second photo is Quandary Peak, a popular "14er"
(i.e. a mountain with an altitude of 14,000+ feet above sea level). My friend Shannon and I ascended this
mountain via the standard route in August 2007.
